Description:

Banca d’Italia will host its first Annual Research Conference on Monetary Policy. The conference will bring together economists from academia and central banks to address key aspects of the conduct of monetary policy. Both theoretical and empirical papers that make contributions on every aspect of the monetary policy transmission chain are welcome. Special attention will be paid to papers with relevance to current policy questions. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Monetary policy with information frictions;
  • Communication and forward guidance;
  • Inflation expectations, anchoring and inflation dynamics;
  • Monetary policy and uncertainty;
  • Monetary policy and structural changes, fragmentation and de-globalization;
  • Monetary-fiscal policy interactions;
  • Transmission via banks and non-bank financial intermediaries;
  • Transmission via financial markets.

Submission:

Papers for submission should be sent to MonPolConf2025@bancaditalia.it by February 28th, 2025. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by March 10th.
A discussant will be assigned to each presenter. Travel and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed for academic participants, subject to a cap. All presentations will take place in person at Banca d’Italia, Via Nazionale 91, 00184 Rome.
