Description:
The Bank Policy Institute and Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs invite the submission of papers for our annual conference on Bank Regulation and Supervision. At present, an in-person conference is planned. The purpose of the conference is to bring together academics, market
participants, and policymakers to discuss the latest research on the design and impacts of regulation.
In light of financial and banking turmoil in 2022 and 2023, this year’s conference will focus
on lessons for bank regulation, supervision and risk management of banks across the size spectrum.
We invite papers that explore all aspects of this topic including but not limited to:
- Implications for capital and liquidity regulation and regulatory stress testing
- The efficacy of tailoring bank regulation and supervision by bank size
- Design of deposit insurance and bank resolution mechanisms
- Interactions of liquidity regulation, central bank liquidity and uninsured liabilities
- Management and regulation of interest rate risk
- Interaction of bank accounting rules, regulatory policy and risk management
We welcome theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented papers.
Submission:
The deadline to submit a detailed abstract or completed paper is November 15, 2023. Please send your submissions by email to sipa_conf@columbia.edu. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by January 1, 2024.
