Description:
The Financial Intermediation Research Society (FIRS) is pleased to announce that its next conference will be held in Seoul, South Korea, on May 29-31, 2025. You are invited to submit papers to be considered for presentation. Theoretical, quantitative, and empirical papers in all areas of finance are welcome.
As in past years, the 2025 FIRS Conference will hold two special sessions for Ph.D. students. Each selected paper will be discussed by a seasoned researcher in a session open to all FIRS participants. To be eligible, the submitting author must be a Ph.D. student who is not on the job market in 2024-25, and all the authors of the submitted paper must currently be Ph.D. students. Also, as part of the submission process, the submitting author will be asked to provide the name and email address of their thesis advisor.
All fields in finance will be considered. Conference fees will be waived for students whose paper is accepted for these special sessions, and FIRS will reimburse these students up to $1,000 to cover travel and hotel expenses.

Submissions for Regular Sessions

Awards:
The Journal of Financial Intermediation will be sponsoring a $5,000 JFI/FIRS Award for the conference’s best paper submitted to the Ph.D. student sessions. The award-winning paper will be selected jointly by the Board of the Financial Intermediation Research Society and the Editorial Board of the Journal of Financial Intermediation. The award will be announced and presented as part of a special event at the conference.
