Description:

Banco de España in cooperation with CEMFI organises a series of biennial conferences to promote
the research and discussion of topics related to macroprudential policy and financial stability among
academics, practitioners, and policy-makers.

The Scientific Committee invites submissions of theoretical and empirical papers related to financial stability issues. Papers with a focus on the analytical frameworks and macroprudential tools are especially welcome. Examples of relevant topics may include:

  • Macroeconomic models of linkages between real and financial sectors.
  • Inflation and monetary policy: implications for financial stability.
  • Interactions between micro- and macro-prudential policy measures.
  • Releasability and usability of buffers.
  • Resolution and liquidation: implications for financial stability.
  • Climate change risks, regulation and financial stability.
  • Fintech, Bigtech, and financial stability.
  • Financial stability implications of cryptoassets, decentralised finance and CBDC.
  • Macroprudential policies beyond banking.
  • New perspectives on stress testing.
  • Assessment of extraordinary measures undertaken during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Submission:

Complete manuscripts should be sent in pdf format to financial-stability.conferences@bde.es. The
deadline for submissions is 15 February 2023.
Authors of accepted papers will be notified by 15 March 2023 and, after the conference, invited to
publish their contributions in the Financial Stability Review of the Banco de España (but this will not
be a requirement).
Travel and accommodation expenses of academic speakers will be reimbursed.
