Members and friends of the Western Finance Association are invited to submit papers to be considered for presentation at the 2022 Annual Meetings. Papers on any topic related to finance will be considered. As we transition to what we hope to be the new normal and an in-person conference in June, the submission deadline is the familiar November 18, 2021.
WFA 2022 is scheduled to be held Friday, June 24 – Monday, June 27, 2022, in Portland, OR. We are hoping and planning for WFA 2022 to be in-person in Portland. But, of course, these are extraordinary times and we will continue to monitor the situation and adapt as needed. In particular, we expect to have some remote-participation alternatives. We will post updates as needed at https://westernfinance.org/conference/
You can submit papers electronically via the WFA website: http://westernfinance.org/submit-a-paper. Once submitted, you can update your paper up to the deadline of 11:59 pm, PST, November 18, 2021. Papers will be reviewed anonymously by members of the Program Committee. Authors will be notified about the outcome of the reviewing process in March 2022

Best Paper Awards (subject to change) include the Charles River Associates Award for the best paper on corporate finance, Elsevier Sponsored Award for the best paper on financial institutions, PBCSF Award for the best paper on Fintech, WRDS Award, for the best paper on empirical finance, Two Sigma Award for the best paper on investment management, and the NASDAQ Award for the best paper on asset pricing. For student-authored papers, awards may include USC Marshall School of Business Trefftzs Award for the best student paper and Cubist Systematic Strategies awards.
