Day-Ahead Workshop on Financial Regulation

The objective of the workshop is to provide an opportunity for young researchers working on topics related to financial regulation to present their recent results to esteemed academics. We aim to provide a platform and friendly atmosphere for young researchers and senior scholars to gather and share new ideas, discuss the challenges of the current economic environment and explore the course of research that can potentially produce influential insight.

The global crisis of 2008-2009 has triggered a rapid evolution of international financial regulation. All the
components of the regulatory framework were stress-tested and underwent dramatic modernization; new tools
were introduced. During the past decade, in response to many challenges, the competent authorities have
sharpened their toolkit in order to be equipped for the next global crisis. Now that an exogenous shock has sent
the economies down to the bottom of the cycle, we suggest reviewing the elements of this toolkit, examining
the intended and unintended consequences of their application, and discussing their effectiveness in dealing
with the current and future challenges.
We would like to gather senior academics and young researchers working on topics related to financial
regulation and financial stability to present their recent results, share new ideas, and discuss future challenges
in this area.
