Description:

Researchers are invited to submit proposals for an in-person workshop on monetary and financial history that will be hosted at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C., on May 12-13, 2025. This annual Federal Reserve System workshop provides an opportunity for researchers to meet and discuss topics drawn from historical experience that not only help us to understand the past but also offer lessons and insights for today (see the 2022 and 2024 (PDF) programs). Professor Marc Flandreau of the University of Pennsylvania will give a keynote address.

Proposals on any topic related to monetary and financial history are welcome. The workshop is geared toward work that is at a stage at which discussants and conference participants can give useful feedback.

Submission:

Submit your proposal as a long abstract (3–5 pages) or a draft paper to FinHistWorkshop2025@frb.gov by January 10, 2025. Decisions will be made by the end of February.

Travel funding may be available for academic presenters and discussants.
