The Journal of Financial Economics invites paper submissions for a special issue on the theme of “Innovations in the Financial System”. Papers of interest are those that explore financial innovations that are likely to shape the way the financial system evolves over the coming decades. Both theoretical and empirical work is welcome. Topics of interest include but are not limited to new developments in the following areas:
- Money, payments, and financial market infrastructure
- Financial intermediation (e.g. open banking, digitalization of assets, new technologies for screening and monitoring)
- Decentralized finance and other applications of blockchain/DLT
- Cybersecurity, privacy and trust in finance
The Journal of Financial Economics’ submission system will be open for submissions to our Special Issue from 22/09/2023. When submitting your manuscript please select the article type “VSI: Innovations in the Financial System”. Please submit your manuscript before 31/03/2024.
Once your manuscript is accepted, it will go into production, and will be simultaneously published in the current regular issue and pulled into the online Special Issue. Articles from this Special Issue will appear in different regular issues of the journal, though they will be clearly marked and branded as Special Issue articles.
