Description:
The 9th Annual World Symposium on Investment Research will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland on May 3-4, 2026 at the Radisson Blu Hotel. It is offered in partnership with the Review of Finance.
The authors are invited to submit unpublished papers on any topic related to investments that are not under journal revision (R&R) or scheduled for the AFA-2026 and have not appeared at earlier AFA or WFA programs. Possible topics include: Arbitrage in Asset Markets, Corporate Decisions and Asset Returns, Firm Governance and Valuation, Global Investment Issues, Hedge Funds and Other Alternative Investments, High-Frequency Trading, Investor Behavior and Performance, Liquidity and Security Returns, Mutual Funds and Pension Funds, Portfolio Rebalancing Strategies, Real Economy and Asset Prices, Return Predictability.
Submission:
The submission is open from October 20 to November 20, 2025 (23:59 UTC‐11). Please submit a blind copy of the paper in PDF format at wsir.org. The PDF file name should include the first several words of the submitted paper’s title. At the time of submission, each author will have an option to register for a possible discussant slot in case his/her paper is not selected for the symposium. The submission fee is $95.00 ($60.00 for student‐only papers).
Review of Finance dual submission option:
Submissions to the symposium can also be submitted to the RF under its dual review system at no extra cost. Papers rejected at any stage of the dual review process are not considered to have been “rejected” at the RF. Thus, the authors can submit a future version of their paper to the RF without prejudice. While under consideration by the symposium and the RF, a paper may not be under review at any journal, including the RF, until the author has been notified of the outcome of the dual submission process.
Additional Information:
The submitted papers will be reviewed and ranked by the symposium committee members and ten papers will be selected. The authors will be notified of the selection outcome by January 31, 2026. The online registration will be open at wsir.org from February 20 to April 20, 2026. Symposium participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements. Each discussant receives a small honorarium. Any questions about the symposium should be sent to info@wsir.org
