On May 2-3, 2024, the CFPB will host its seventh research conference on consumer finance. The conference will be held in person at CFPB headquarters at 1700 G Street NW, Washington DC.
The goal of the conference is to connect the core community of researchers and policymakers, with a focus on research from a wide range of disciplines and approaches that can inform both groups on the topic of consumer finance.
We welcome and encourage the submission of a broad range of research work. Topics include, but are not limited to: competition and market power in the financial sector; technological innovation in financial markets and consumer impacts, including the use of big data and the presence of algorithmic biases; access to fair and affordable credit for traditionally underserved consumers and communities; the ways consumers and households make decisions about borrowing, saving, and financial risk-taking; and emerging risks to household financial stability.
Disciplines from which we hope to receive submissions include, but are not limited to, economics, law and economics, and cognitive sciences.
The deadline for submissions is 5 PM EST Friday, December 22nd, 2023.
