We seek high-quality papers from scholars conducting financial markets research for the Fourteenth Annual Wine Country Finance Conference (formerly known as “The Napa Conference”), co-hosted by the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and Financial Management, the journal of the Financial Management Association International (FMA).
This is a small, high-quality, conference held in Sonoma’s wine country at the Benziger Family Winery. In addition to consuming high-quality research, conference participants consume outstanding wine and cuisine.
We are delighted to offer attendees the opportunity to explore the historic city of Sonoma as the venue for the 2019 conference. “Sonoma is at the heart of the renowned Sonoma Valley winemaking region and is known for its art galleries and the colonial-era Sonoma Plaza. Surrounding this plaza are significant 19th-century adobe buildings including Mission San Francisco Solano and the Sonoma Barracks, once used by the Mexican military.”
There are hosted dinners on Friday and Saturday and a luncheon at Benziger Winery on Saturday. Following the conference on Saturday, there is a hosted wine tasting at the winery. Six papers will be selected for the program. Presenters will be reimbursed for travel expenses (coach airfare up to $1,500 (USD), two nights in conference hotel, and rental car for two days).
Criteria used to select papers for the program include the nature of the research problem, implications of the proposed research, the quality of the research design, and the expected contribution of the research to the literature.
